Tiger Woods squeezes in workouts during Presidents Cup

Days after Tiger Woods revealed that he’s “starting to hit the ball a little further” as he recovers from back fusion surgery, the former golf champ was spotted hitting the gym in New York.

In town for the Presidents Cup, where he’s signed on as an assistant to U.S. captain Steve Stricker, Woods was seen lifting weights and doing some light cardio exercise at Equinox Brookfield Place on Thursday and Friday mornings. He arrived to the club around 6 a.m. on both days.

We’re told members noticed the athlete, but “let him be.”

In a blog post this week, his first public comments since his DUI arrest in May, Woods acknowledged that, “I don’t know what my future holds for me,” but said he continues “to chip and putt every day.”

He also detailed his fitness routine off the green: “I’m working out six days a week, alternating between the treadmill, bike riding, swimming and lifting twice a day. My muscle tone is coming back, but I’m not in golf shape yet. That’s going to take time.”
