Norman Reedus’ cat is high-maintenance

A dark shadow follows Norman Reedus everywhere he goes.

That dark shadow is his cat, Eye in the Dark.

“He comes everywhere with me,” Reedus, 48, told Us Weekly on Sunday. “He doesn’t like to be left alone. He racks up a major room service bill.”

Eye in the Dark joined “The Walking Dead” star in Los Angeles for the show’s premiere on Sunday.

The black feline, who even boasts a fan-run Twitter account, waited for Reedus in the actor’s hotel room, where he made himself comfortable … even if he made housekeeping a little tough.

Reedus adopted the cat when his now-18-year-old son Mingus was 5.

“When my son was about 5 years old, he said to me, ‘Daddy, I need a little black kitten,'” Reedus told People last year. “So I called all over New York City looking for a little black kitten, and I found one that was in the East Village, and they said it was found in a box in an alley and the guy goes, ‘I have all these other kittens, you don’t want this kitten.’ And I go ‘Why?’ He goes, ‘This cat is never gonna love anyone,'” he continued. “I said, ‘I’ll take it!’ and now the cat’s just a big fluff love ball.”

At the time, Reedus had all black floors, leading Mingus, whose mother is model Helena Christensen, to named the cat Eye in the Dark — because that was the only part of the cat he was able to see at night.
