Washington state prosecutors can’t proceed with their rape case against Nelly, so it will be dropped.
The alleged victim refused to cooperate with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, which made it difficult to go forward and charge the rapper with a crime, TMZ reported. The woman, a 21-year-old college student, claimed the “Country Grammar” rapper assaulted her on his tour bus at a Walmart.
She later told police she didn’t want to press charges.
“She wishes she had not called 911 because she believes the system is going to fail her,” a statement from the alleged victim’s lawyer said. “She never wanted notoriety. She never wanted a dime from that man. She wants to go back to school and to graduate.”
Nelly’s attorney called the allegations “false” and a “fabrication.”
