Former employee latest to sue Weinstein for sexual assault

A former employee of Harvey Weinstein‘s entertainment company is suing the disgraced movie mogul for sexual assault in a new $10 million claim.

Alexandra Canosa says in court papers that “over a period of years through 2017” Weinstein “threatened [her] and made it clear that if she did not succumb to his demands or if she exposed his unwanted conduct there would be retaliation, including humiliation, the loss of her job and any ability to work in the entertainment industry.”

The Manhattan Supreme Court suit does not detail the alleged abuse.

The Weinstein Company, Harvey’s brother Robert Weinstein, and the company’s board are also named as defendants. They “knew or should have known about Harvey Weinstein’s conduct, and did not act to correct or curtail such activity,” the suit says.

Harvey Weinstein and the co-defendants did not immediately respond to messages for comment.
