The father of Mindy Kaling‘s newborn remains a mystery.
Kaling, 38, gave birth to a baby girl named Katherine on Friday and left out any information regarding the baby’s father on the birth certificate.
In the document obtained by The Blast, fields for his name and date of birth were left blank.
The actress has not been publicly linked to anyone since 2012 and has not revealed any information about the baby’s father since it was reported that she was expecting.
Besides revealing her pregnancy to Oprah Winfrey, she told Willie Geist on “Sunday Today” that she’s excited by the unpredictable life of motherhood.
“It’s so unknown to me,” she said. “I have a lot of control over a lot of aspects of my life, and this is one where I’m like, ‘OK, it’s out of my hands,’ which is kind of a fun feeling.”
However, we were told in August that her family was displeased with her sudden news.
“For family members who were hoping for a traditional marriage and a son-in-law, this was a shock,” a source said.
The birth certificate also shows that Katherine’s middle name is Swati, after Kaling’s late mother.
