‘Get Out’ star adopted a puppy after film’s success

Betty Gabriel was a best ensemble honoree at the National Board of Review’s gala, and told Page Six about her first big purchase after the success of her low-budget breakout film, “Get Out.”

“I paid off a little bit more of my student loan and I adopted a puppy,” she told us.

“I was extremely shocked at the film’s success — we had a very, very small budget, but I read the script and [writer-director] Jordan Peele is a mastermind and a genius.”

The brainy horror film cost less than $5 million.
