The brother of “Sex and the City” star Kim Cattrall – who was reported missing Sunday morning on social media by his worried sister after he disappeared from his Canadian home five days ago – is dead.
“It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall,” the actress, 61, posted on her Twitter account Sunday afternoon.
“At this time we ask for privacy. We want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time.”
Cattrall had taken to social media early morning Sunday to say that family and federal police had been looking for him.
“He has been missing since Tuesday, January the 30th from his home in Lacombe, Alberta Canada. His keys, cell phone, & wallet left on the table and his front door unlocked,” she wrote.
“This is not like Chris. He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs,” she wrote.
It is unclear how he died or where he was found.
