Omarosa gets emotional talking about White House stint

Omarosa Manigault Newman, who followed her reality show notoriety and “The Apprentice” star Donald Trump to the White House, said she was “haunted” by the president’s tweeting habit.

“I was haunted by tweets every single day, like what is he gonna tweet,” she said in a preview of CBS’ “Celebrity Big Brother” that airs Thursday night.

Newman said she “tried to be the person” to stop Trump from saying or doing things that erupted into a controversy that derailed his administration’s agenda, but the White House turned more dog-eat-dog than a reality show.

She said she tried to intervene “and then all of the people around him attacked me. It was like, ‘Keep her away, don’t give her access, don’t let her talk to him.’ Ivanka’s there, Jared’s there,” said Newman, referring to Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner.

Tearing up at times and speaking in hushed tones, she dished about the White House with another contestant on the show, Ross Matthews — “Ross the Intern” from “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” — as the two lounged on couches.

At one point, Matthews asked her for assurances that everything will be all right.

“No, it’s not going to be okay, it’s not,” Newman whispered in response. “It’s so bad.”

Asked if anyone in the West Wing had the power to control Trump, she said she didn’t know.

“I’m not there. It’s not my, it’s not my circus, not my monkeys. I’d like to say it’s not my problem but I can’t say that because, like, it’s bad,” said Newman, who shot to fame as the “woman America loved to hate” on the first season of “The Apprentice” in 2004.

She was fired in December from her job as director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison in the White House.
