“American Chopper” star Paul Teutul Sr.’s home is in foreclosure.
Teutul received a warning that he was “in danger of losing [his] home” in August 2017 and now he is due to appear in court on March 21, per a court docket obtained by Page Six.
He took out a $1.5 million mortgage for the home on 95 Judson Road in Montgomery, New York, in 2005 and modified the loan in 2013 and 2016 to lower his monthly payments. The Orange County Choppers owner owed $870,939.43 on the property as of February 2017.
He put the 38-acre estate, about 70 miles north of Manhattan, on the market, but recently slashed the price from $2.89 million to $2.49 million.
“The foreclosure filing, which was not executed, was an action taken to give options for an ongoing tax assessment request. Mr. Teutul cares for numerous animals on his property and under the laws of NY State is eligible for an agricultural assessment to provide property tax relief to the property owner,” Paris D’Jon of HYPE Projects Agency told us Tuesday.
“American Choppers” is set to return to Discovery Channel on March 1 after a years-long hiatus. It is unclear if the home will be featured on the show.
