Rita Moreno re-wears 1962 Oscar dress

What’s old is new again for Rita Moreno.

The 86-year-old actress hit the red carpet Sunday ahead of the 90th Academy Awards, clad in the same gown she wore in 1962, when she made history as the first-ever Latina to win Best Actress for her role as Anita Palacio in “West Side Story.”

“I thought it would tarnish,” Moreno told E!’s Ryan Seacrest. “It’s been hanging in my closet.”

Joined by daughter Fernanda Luisa Fisher, Moreno also dished on her 15-second acceptance speech over five decades ago.

“I had no idea that I was going to win,” she said. “I thought it was going to be Judy Garland.”

Moreno is one of 12 performers to have ever won an Oscar, Tony, Grammy and Emmy.
