It’s over for Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid after more than two years of dating.
Malik, 25 and Hadid, 22, confirmed on Tuesday that they have called it quits after speculation about their breakup began to rise.
“Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend,” Malik tweeted. “She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time, we wish this news could have come from us first.”
Fans thought the former One Direction crooner had hinted at the breakup on Instagram, where he posted a selfie and captioned it, “When life throws you lemons, catch em so they don’t hit you in the f–king face.”
Malik started dating supermodel Hadid in November 2015, three months after he ended his engagement to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards.
