Artist Stephen Posen is making a comeback

Stephen Posen — the artist father of designer Zac Posen — made a triumphant return after years out of the spotlight with a new show of never-before-shown work at Vito Schnabel’s New York gallery.

“Threads: Paintings from the 1960s and ’70s” will run though June 23 before Schnabel launches another exhibition of Posen’s work in Switzerland.

At the opening were Katie Holmes, Uma Thurman, Huma Abedin, Bob Colacello, Rolf Sachs, Dasha Zhukova, Stavros Niarchos and Theo Wenner.

We hear that when art insider and British royal Princess Eugenie was asked by a pal, “Are you excited for the wedding?” she replied, “I’m so excited, I can’t wait!”

But the friend was confused when Eugenie added the date of the nuptials was October.

“She was talking about her own wedding, not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s,” a source said.

That other royal pair’s tying the knot May 19, while Eugenie’s walking down the aisle Oct. 12 with fiancé Jack Brooksbank.

The couples both live in Kensington Palace.

Posen was a lauded contemporary of Richard Serra and Brice Marden, but abruptly closed his studio around 1980.
