Keith Hernandez says he chased Luann de Lesseps ‘like a hound’

Luann de Lesseps is quite familiar with first base.

During an appearance Wednesday on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” former Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez revealed he and the “Real Housewives of New York City” staple were once “friends with benefits,” before she married Count Alexandre de Lesseps in 1993.

“It was a brief moment,” the MLB legend confirmed. “I met her in Manhattan somewhere, I forget, and she was absolutely gorgeous. I chased her like a hound.”

“You got her?” Cohen asked, to which Hernandez, 64, answered, “When they waved me home from third.”

De Lesseps’ pal and co-star, Sonja Morgan, also weighed in on the tryst.

“I may be the straw that stirs the drink, but he swings a big bat,” Morgan quipped, before Hernandez replied, “Did Luann tell you that?”

The “Money Can’t Buy You Class” crooner, 52, is fresh off her divorce from husband No. 2, Tom D’Agostino Jr., after seven months of marriage. As for Hernandez, he split from second wife Kai Thompson in 2010 after five years together. He shares three daughters with first wife Sue.
