Tracy Morgan repeatedly watched fatal car wreck to heal

Tracy Morgan went through physical therapy to physically recover from a fatal car crash nearly four years ago, but in order to heal mentally, “The Last O.G.” star used unorthodox methods.

“My son…he turned me onto ‘Key and Peele,’ that helped my healing process because that was the funniest thing. I was sitting there broken the f–k up not knowing my name, but I was laughing,” Morgan said in a conversation at New York Magazine’s Vulture Festival Saturday night.

“Months later I would watch it every day.”

Morgan’s love of “Key and Peele” inspired him to reach out to Jordan Peele, who now produces “The Last O.G.” The duo met for the first time hours before Morgan surprised the 2015 Emmys with an appearance, where he received a standing ovation.

In addition to Peele’s series, Morgan also watched footage of the car crash that took James McNair’s life and left Morgan in a coma.

“I would watch the accident on YouTube. It helped my healing process,” he shared. “I would watch where I got hit, where my friend died.”

“That was part of my healing, watching it.”
