Romantics, rejoice: Brie Bella says her sister Nikki Bella and John Cena are still in love and working hard at making amends.
“They talk. You know, it’s like any break up — you try to work it out,” Brie, 36, told People on Wednesday. “It’s not like they hate each other or they don’t love each other. They love each other really hard. They love each other a lot and they want to make it work.”
Cena, 41, and Nikki called off their engagement in April just weeks before what would have been their wedding day because Cena didn’t want to have children.
The “Blockers” star has since come around to the idea of walking down the aisle and having a family with Nikki, making several public pleas in an effort to win her back. It seems like his efforts are working, but Brie advised that the couple won’t tie the knot immediately, despite their apparent reconciliation.
“There’s just so much they have to figure out with each other — like, talk about two people who are so career-driven,” Brie said. “Marriage makes you really take a step back and be like, ‘Wait a second. Are we ready for this?’ Because it’s a big step, and they’re not the types to just get married and then divorced ’cause it doesn’t work. They want it forever, and they really have to think about that. So they’re talking. They’re trying to work it out. We’ll see.”
