Seth Green’s ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’ co-star helped him land ‘Family Guy’

Seth Green got by with a little help from his friend “Can’t Hardly Wait” co-star Charlie Korsmo.

The “Family Guy” actor has often told the story about how he and a friend were joking around doing Buffalo Bill’s voice from “Silence of the Lambs” and his friend dared him to do the voice during his audition to play Chris Griffin.

As it turns out, the “friend” was Charlie Korsmo, his co-star in the teen film “Can’t Hardly Wait,” who was staying with Green during the summer of 1998 while promoting their movie.

Seth’s audition for the show was coming up and Korsmo told Page Six, “We were playing around with the voice [of Chris] … the one voice we used to do was Buffalo Bill from ‘Silence of The Lambs.’ Our idea for his voice was to do Buffalo Bill as an 11-year-old boy … And that’s what he’s doing on the show.”

Korsmo added, “I think he really weirded out Seth MacFarlane when he came in with that audition idea, but it worked for him.”

“Family Guy” first premiered in 1999 and is set to return for Season 17 this year.
