Rachel Bloom claps back at Neil Patrick Harris’ Tonys dig

Rachel Bloom didn’t take kindly to Neil Patrick Harris‘ “confusion” over who she was and why she was at the Tony Awards on Sunday.

Bloom, 32, served as the backstage host for the broadcast of Broadway’s biggest night, a duty she also performed in 2017.

The “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” star also reprised her schtick of wearing small top hats for the gig this year.

Despite that, Harris, 44, didn’t recognize the actress.

“Who is the woman in the top hat backstage at @TheTonyAwards? Gideon remarked that she says ‘like’ and ‘oh my god’ a lot. I’m confused,” Harris tweeted during the show.

That had to sting, because Bloom and Harris actually knew one another — or so she thought.

“I’m a big fan of yours,” Bloom replied. “We’ve met numerous times and my husband, Dan Gregor, wrote for ‘How I Met Your Mother’ for 5 years. Notably, he wrote the episode where your character finally meets his father.”

Harris quickly backed away from his criticism, but didn’t offer up an apology.

“Indeed! Well said,” he tweeted. “Thanks for the reminder. How was backstage?”

Bloom has yet to respond to Harris’ quip.
