Niall Horan taking a break following world tour

Niall Horan is heading in One Direction when his tour ends — out of the limelight.

The singer has revealed he is planning an extended break from the showbiz bubble after a year spent on the road.

He will finish his worldwide jaunt in three months then take time off before starting work on his second solo record, having struggled to make it while touring.

In an exclusive interview at his Horan & Rose fundraiser with golf champ Justin Rose on Saturday, he said: “Having the band there is great so in the soundchecks we will jam out something and see what happens.

“Nothing has really come yet. When I’m on tour I get into such a routine. And when you’re writing songs I feel like that needs to be 100 percent your focus.

“So I’m going to take a couple of months off after the tour, which finishes in September. Then I’ll just write until I’ve got good tunes. I’m not coming back until I do.

“I find that the slower songs come more naturally for me. I would like to create a bit more of the up-tempo stuff and try to cement my sound. That’s something to work on.”

The ex-One Direction singer raised more than $796,000 for Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens at The Grove hotel in Herts.

Olly Murs, TV’s Kirsty Gallacher and cricketer Kevin Pietersen were among guests, but Niall’s rumored girlfriend Hailee Steinfield couldn’t make it.

Asked if they are together, he said: “Private life, I’ll keep that one to myself.”

Niall was out for his second night on the trot, having joined Taylor Swift at her Reputation tour at Wembley Stadium on Friday for a surprise performance of his hit “Slow Hands.”

He said: “Taylor, she’s a dream. She’s the ultimate superstar, a complete pro, lovely girl and wide open for a collaboration.

“We’ve never spoken about it, it was the first time I’d seen her in about a year and a half. It’s good to get back in touch.”

Getting her on the album could speed up his return.
