Mira Sorvino’s ‘Romy and Michele’ co-star: I’m glad the truth is coming out

Mira Sorvino‘s on-screen foe is now a strong supporter in her fight against sexual misconduct in Hollywood.
“I have been entirely supportive of her, as most women,” Elaine Hendrix told Page Six on Friday. “I 100 percent support her.”
Hendrix, who starred alongside Sorvino as mean girl Lisa Luder in 1997’s “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion,” said her and Sorvino, who had the lead role of Romy White, are still friends and have “been messaging” since Sorvino has become a notable voice in the allegations against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Sorvino who won an Oscar for “Mighty Aphrodite” when she worked with Weinstein, claimed that he blacklisted her after she rejected his sexual advances and has continued to share horrific behind-the-scenes experiences she’s had while working in show business. Most recently, she said she was gagged with a condom during an audition in an interview with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s “HFPA In Conversation” podcast.
“When I think of Mira I think of like she just reminds me of this beautiful deer she’s so gentle and yet so sturdy and graceful through life,” Hendrix told us. “I absolutely adore her and I’m really sorry she’s gone through what she’s gone through, but “I’m glad that the truth is coming out and I’m glad that she’s getting a say in that truth.”

Weinstein, who has been indicted on rape and predatory sexual assault charges, has denied Sorvino’s claims.
