SAN DIEGO, CA — Fans can thank a 10-year-old for getting Tom Hardy interested in playing Marvel anti-hero Venom.
“My son is a massive Venom fan, and he was a strong influence on my why I should play Venom specifically,” Hardy said during Sony’s “Venom” panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday. “I wanted to do something my son could watch.”
But the “Legend” actor acknowledged his films are usually too aggressive and violent for his son Louis’ age group.
“So I did something where I bite people’s heads off instead,” he joked.
Sony also presented “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” during their Friday night presentation in the famed Hall H, which holds 6,000 people.
However, fans were over chatting about James Gunn‘s noticeable absence hours after he was fired from Walt Disney Studios.
