After a month of courting, 28-year-old John-David Duggar proposed to 26-year-old Abbie Burnett.
“So I have some news, you want to see it?” Duggar says in a new video for TLC as he holds up Burnett’s hand, showing off her engagement ring. “You want to see it? It’s official. We’re engaged.”
Duggar says the couple has been ready to take this step for awhile.
They announced on June 26 that they were courting. “We fell in love very quickly and it’s been a wonderful journey thus far!” John-David said at the time.
Duggar parents Jim-Bob and Michelle also shared the engagement news Wednesday on the family’s website.
“They are a wonderful match and make a beautiful couple!” they wrote. “Abbie is a lovely young woman, full of tenderness and compassion. She has a deep love for the Lord and we are so delighted that John-David has asked her to be his wife! We love weddings in this family and can’t wait for this next one!”
In the last month alone, 21-year-old Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson tied the knot and 24-year-old Jinger Duggar and husband Jeremy Vuolo welcomed their first child.
