Chris Martin honors Leonardo DiCaprio with ‘Titanic’ tribute

Coldplay rocker Chris Martin performed his band’s hits — as well as Céline Dion’s “Titanic” anthem “My Heart Will Go On” in honor of Leo DiCaprio — Saturday at the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation 20th anniversary benefit in Sonoma, Calif.

The event’s chairs included Arnold Schwarzenegger, Madonna, Tobey Maguire, Ellen DeGeneres, Julia Jackson, Edward Norton, Moby, Vivi Nevo and Robert Redford.

DiCaprio told the crowd of his environmental organization, “I am pleased to announce $11 million in new grants across our six program areas, bringing the total financial impact of LDF to over $100 million.”

An auction included works by Ai Weiwei, Richard Prince, David Hockney, Frank Gehry and others. Laurene Powell was the co-host, and honorees included gallerist Arne Glimcher. And naturally, the shindig was “a zero waste, sustainable event using 100 percent renewable energy and locally sourced foods.”
