New York women eager to catch a glimpse of Liev Schreiber

Liev Schreiber‘s “Ray Donovan” got quite the reception when the show started filming in New York.

“There were about eight women, beautiful women, a very nice team of gals, and they were there to see if they could catch a glimpse of Liev,” Schreiber’s co-star Jon Voight said of a recent day on set at the Tribeca TV Festival on Sunday.

“They were a group of people who had a club, and each of them had said to their husbands, that if there was anybody else they could be with, it would be Liev,” he continued.

But Schreiber — who split from Naomi Watts in 2017 — quipped, “That’s not what happened at all. That’s not even remotely what happened. The truth is, yes, they like the characters.”

“It’s worth bearing in mind that the character was created by a woman,” Schreiber added of his rough Bostonian character. “Ray absorbs things and he protects and he represents a certain fantasy about masculinity that in some ways is extremely attractive to both men and women.”

Proving his point, during the Q&A segment of the panel a woman in the audience asked Schreiber to marry her — with her husband’s permission of course.

He turned down the proposal.
