Another big name has signed on to the Andrew Dice Clay documentary.
John Singleton, who directed “Boyz n the Hood” and “2 Fast 2 Furious,” will direct the forthcoming film about the comedian’s rollercoaster career, Page Six can exclusively report.
The doc will be produced by Gene Kirkwood, the executive producer behind “Rocky” and “The Defiant Ones,” which earned him a Grammy for best music film.
“My last documentary was ‘The Defiant Ones’ about Jimmy [Iovine] and [Dr.] Dre — I gotta top that to do this,” he told us Thursday. “Dice is so different, you gotta make it different.”
“A Bronx Tale” actor Chazz Palminteri is also involved.
When news of the project broke first last month, Dice told us, “This isn’t going to be some documentary where we show the rise and fall and rise again. When people are done watching this, they’re going to really see who Andrew Dice Clay/Andrew Silverstein really is.”
