Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz win Halloween as Shrek and Fiona
Heidi Klum and her boyfriend Tom Kaulitz made an epic entrance to her annual Halloween party on Wednesday night, arriving as Shrek and Fiona in an onion carriage.
A crowd of onlookers and paparazzi went crazy outside of Lavo New York on 58th street when the model shut down traffic with her grand arrival. “I’m a Believer” by Smash Mouth, from the movie soundtrack, blasted on speakers outside the club as the couple rolled up.
“It took nine hours,” Klum told reporters at the party, which was presented by Party City and SVEDKA Vodka, about how long it took to get ready for the evening. “I was sitting the whole time. Basically, they have to do the face … the hands, the feet, the outfit just pops on, but the face takes a long time.”
The 45-year-old queen of Halloween added that it would take the pair around two hours to take the prosthetics off when they got home after the party.
“I always loved the movie ‘Shrek,'” Klum said. “I have four kids, I’ve watched most kids movies. In order to do a couples thing I needed someone to do that with and now that I’ve found my Shrek, I could finally do Fiona.”
The pair, who weren’t shy about PDA on the carpet, joked that their relationship works because they both love the color green.
Inside the party, Klum and Kaulitz were spotted dancing to tunes like “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Like a Virgin” from Questlove, who served as the evening’s DJ.
Guests included Bella Hadid and The Weeknd dressed as Beetlejuice and Lydia, Zac Posen came as Willy Wonka, Lupita Nyong’o as Dionne from “Clueless,” Padma Lakshmi as the Black Swan and Kat Graham as Jim Carrey in “The Mask.”
