Demi Lovato leaning on ex Wilmer Valderrama post-rehab

Demi Lovato has a lot of support since leaving rehab, and ex Wilmer Valderrama has been her rock, a source confirmed to Page Six.

Lovato, 26, and Valderrama, 38, have been in constant contact during the singer’s recovery and meet up often since she’s returned to Los Angeles, TMZ reported early Thursday.

The pair haven’t gotten back together and their relationship is a purely platonic, supportive friendship, an insider told us.

Valderrama frequently visited the “Confident” singer when she was hospitalized after her near-fatal overdose in July and was also spotted seeing Lovato when she was in rehab.

The “That ’70s Show” star and Lovato split in June 2016 after six years together, but have remained close friends.

Lovato previously credited Valderrama for saving her life during her battles with bulimia, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and self-harm, claiming the only “off-again” periods during their relationship were due to her illness.

“The only times we ever broke up were when I was relapsing, whether it was drugs or in a bad place and rebelling against everybody, not just him,” she revealed in August 2015. “People say that relapses happen before you use. Your mind starts setting up the relapse before you take that drink or that first hit. The times we’d broken up, I had already gone to that place of, ‘Yeah, this is what’s happening.’ I didn’t realize it at the time, but I just wanted to sabotage everything around me so that I could sabotage myself.”

Lovato has also been spotted with 27-year-old clothing designer Henry Levy, who previously told Complex that he’s been to rehab multiple times.

“He is someone she met years ago,” a friend of the singer told People. “Henry has been helping Demi stay on the right path.”

A second source told the magazine, “Demi has known Henry for years and wore his clothes in the past. He has a bit of a troubled past as well, but is doing well now. He will be great at supporting Demi’s sobriety. He is kind of an eccentric guy, but sweet. Demi won’t be bored with him. He is very creative and passionate about life.”

Lovato recently completed 90 days of in-patient rehab and will reportedly split her time between a sober house and a private Los Angeles residence as she continues her recovery.

Reps for Lovato and Valderrama did not comment.
