Count Tyler Hilton in for another ‘One Tree Hill’ reunion

For Tyler Hilton, no holiday meal is complete without gravy.

“Thank God for gravy!” the former “One Tree Hill” star recently told Page Six. “Nothing else needs to be popping that year, but if someone brought a good gravy, you just pour that everywhere and you’re fine. I put in on everything.”

Though Hilton, 35, attempted to make his own one year, he later decided to leave the gravy making to the professionals.

“I’m a taster, not a maker,” he quipped.

Reflecting on the past year, Hilton said he is thankful for his “One Tree Hill” family.

“It’s really rare in this business to stay in touch with people as much as we’ve stayed in touch. I think it’s because we met at such a young age, we have this closeness, we were like college friends,” Hilton explained. “They’re essentially my college group of friends, and seeing them is really fun.”

Hilton, who appears in Lifetime’s “Tis the Season: A One Tree Hill Cast Reunion,” airing Thursday, said his character Chris Keller wasn’t meant to stick around after Season 2.

“It was just supposed to be a stunt from my record company to promote this song of mine,” he explained. “When I went on the show, I never heard of ‘One Tree Hill,’ and I was like, ‘What is this show?’ When I left, I was like, ‘I want to be on this show, I love these people.'”

While Hilton reunited with Hilarie Burton for 2013’s “Christmas in the Bayou,” as well as the upcoming “The Christmas Contract,” he said it’s their impromptu meetings he cherishes most.

“I was on tour last week or the week before, and I was driving through upstate New York, and my wife [actress Megan Park] texted me and was like, ‘You’re passing right by Hilarie’s farm.’ I didn’t even realize, so I texted Hilarie and she was like, ‘I’m here, come by for dinner.’ So we pulled over, had this great dinner with her and [her husband] Jeffrey [Dean Morgan],” Hilton shared.

“It’s just little things like that we’ll try to fit in,” he continued. “I just saw Chad [Michael Murrary] and his wife Sarah when we did a little reunion in Wilmington.”

As for reuniting with the “One Tree Hill” cast again, count Hilton in.

“As long as there’s time, I’m super in,” he said. “I hope I stay close with these people forever.”
