Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas share photos of wedding festivities

Newlyweds Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas gave fans a glimpse inside their traditional wedding festivities.

The couple, who tied the knot in India on Saturday, posted photos on social media of their Mehendi ceremony that took place before the celebration.

Sharing the same message along with the happy pics, they wrote, “One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families that love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi.”

The special ceremony where henna is used to decorate the bride “is a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage,” said wedding expert Meha Bhargava, who specializes in helping Westernized couples who want to be married in traditional Indian fashion.

The series of shared photos include the pair showing off their henna designs, a solo shot of the “Quantico” actress, 36, in her traditional dress, one of the pop star, 26, sitting on the shoulders of partygoers, and another celebratory group shot with her sister-in-law-to-be Sophie Turner enjoying the day.

Their wedding is a multi-day celebration where both of their cultures will be honored.

“Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed,” their post concluded.
