Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines battling estranged husband over prenup

Dixie Chicks frontwoman Natalie Maines is in a nasty legal battle with her estranged husband over their prenuptial agreement.

According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, television actor Adrian Pasdar “does not recall the events related to the drafting and negotiation of the prenuptial agreement in 2000.”

Despite this, and the fact that he initially challenged the prenup, Pasdar, 53, agrees that the couple did sign a “valid enforceable agreement.”

He also agrees with much of what is outlined in the agreement, including that they each retain ownership of the property that was theirs before the marriage and that the royalties from their respective work remain completely separate. What he doesn’t agree with, though, is the fact that he won’t receive spousal support, something his attorney calls “unconscionable.”

“Natalie’s assets and income are far greater than Adrian’s,” they wrote. “At present, Adrian lacks the financial resources from which to support himself and their children at a level anywhere near the marital standard.”

Meanwhile, Maines, 43, who has accused Pasdar of trying to drag out the divorce, wants the judge to order the actor to turn over documents and pay $6,052 in sanctions.

The musician filed for divorce last year after 17 years of marriage.

Reps for Maines and Pasdar did not respond to a request for comment.
