Tanya Sam on the woes of having a winter birthday

The perils of having a winter birthday include having a snowstorm cancel your party plans.

The newest member of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Tanya Sam told Page Six that her December birthday didn’t come without some troubles from Mother Nature.

“I was probably about 12 years old. I might have just been starting to like get crushes on boys, and I was planning this epic ice skating party, and I was wearing a sweater that my grandma had knitted me, and it was a cool skating sweater with like leg warmers,” she said.

“I thought this was gonna be the day! And then there was such a bad blizzard that my birthday party was snowed out, and so nobody came to my birthday party and I didn’t get to wear my skating sweater and outfit … So picture a kid like sitting at the window being like, ‘Wah!’”

“You have to understand, in Canada for something to be snowed out it’s got to be like 12-foot snow,” she added. “So yeah, that was a tough one!”

This year, the “RHOA” star plans to spend her birthday in warmer weather on a tropical vacation with her fiancé, Paul.

And as for the gift she’s most looking forward to receiving? It won’t be coming in a wrapped up box.

“I’m just really happy to have my family around me,” she said. “They’re going to come to Atlanta. Like that’s that’s a gift enough.”
