“Maleficent 2” director Joachim Rønning proposed to publishing heiress Amanda Hearst on a private island in the Maldives on New Year’s Eve, we’re told.
“They had Champagne and a picnic,” said a source. “He proposed on one knee. It was a complete surprise.”
We hear Rønning designed the diamond engagement ring and made sure the stone was ethically sourced. (Hearst runs sustainable fashion company Maison de Mode.)
The source tells us the family likes him, and luckily so does Hearst’s dog, Finn.
“He won Finn over,” says the insider. “That would have been a deal killer.”
