Hours after allegedly calling Alison Brie “such a bitch” while her mic was still hot during a Golden Globes pre-show interview, Chrissy Metz is denying she ever said it.
“It’s terribly unfortunate anyone would think much less run a story that was completely fabricated!” she tweeted on Sunday night. “I adore Alison and would never say a bad word about her, or anyone! I sure hope she knows my heart.”
During the official Golden Globes Facebook Live pre-show, co-hosts Missi Pyle and AJ Gibson asked Metz if she knows Brie, to which she replied, “Do I?” The camera then pans to Brie and Metz can allegedly be heard saying, “She’s such a bitch.”
Metz doubled down on the denial, telling LA Times, “I don’t talk like that. I would never say anything like that about anyone. I’m gutted.”
According to Vanity Fair reporter Nicole Sperling, who talked to Brie about the incident, the “Glow” actress didn’t hear the comments and “seemed very confused by the entire matter.”
Sperling says Brie told her, “But why? I know her. I saw her on the carpet and I told her how beautiful she looked.”
A rep for Metz did not immediately return our request for comment.
