Dave Chappelle delivers tickets to couple who were scammed

Comedian Dave Chappelle got word of a couple who were scammed out of tickets to his show in Charlotte, North Carolina, and wanted to make it right.

Deidra Dickens and her husband, Eddie, were excited to snag some tickets to Chappelle’s stand-up show at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on Valentine’s Day, WBTV reported. Deidra Dickens purchased the tickets for her husband, who is a big fan, through a seller on Craigslist, according to the station.

She purchased two additional tickets for another couple so they could all go together. After she transferred $500 to the seller, she never received the tickets. She has filed a police report with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department regarding the incident.

Chappelle’s representatives got word of the incident and reached out to WBTV following a report on the couple and offered to help them out. The comedian even hand-delivered the tickets to the couple and chatted with them before the show.

The comedian offered them some advice.

“Always get your tickets from reliable sources,” Chappelle was heard telling the couple.
