Taylor Swift makes surprise appearance at couple’s engagement party

No one does surprises better than Taylor Swift.

On Saturday, the pop star made an appearance at the engagement party for fans Alex Goldschmidt and Ross Girard at Sycamore Tavern in Los Angeles.

“There was a person who is not here, who sort of played a part in all of this,” Goldschmidt explained in a video posted to Instagram. “So I would like to welcome, and if you could give a warm welcome to my friend Taylor.”

Swift, 29, then entered the venue with her guitar and embraced the couple.

“Alex emailed me and said he was going to do this, that there was a song that was really special for you, too, called ‘King of My Heart,'” Swift said before she played an acoustic version of the song from her “Reputation” album.

Goldschmidt later thanked Swift for taking part in the festivities.

“I decided to propose to Ross listening to this song in my car. ❤️ I can’t thank Taylor enough for wanting to help make this day so special. #RossAndAlexForever,” he wrote online.
