Jussie Smollett expected to appear in court following indictment

Jussie Smollett is expected to appear in Chicago court on Tuesday — days after he was hit with a 16-count indictment for allegedly lying about his hate attack.

The judge in the case will consider a motion from the media on whether to allow cameras in the courtroom during future proceedings, according to ABC Chicago.

The embattled “Empire” actor isn’t required to appear for the 11:30 a.m. hearing but a source told the network that he will be there.

The defense doesn’t plan to object to the motion.

Smollett’s arraignment is scheduled for Thursday.

On Friday, he was indicted on felony charges of disorderly conduct for lying to police that he was the victim of a hate crime outside his apartment in January.
