Controlling hubby may be behind Wendy Williams’ sober home stay

Wendy Williams’ controlling husband, Kevin Hunter, told her to go to a sober facility in Queens to battle her drink and drug demons, according to a source at her show, produced by Kevin.

The TV star broke the news that she was at a halfway house with a group of youths this week.

The source said: “No one thinks it’s the right place for Wendy. She seems so frail and vulnerable. It’s frightening just how completely under Kevin’s control Wendy is . . . But she won’t hear a word against him. Those close to her are terrified something awful is going to happen. She comes to the set looking terrible.”

Williams told viewers through tears Tuesday: “I have been living in a sober house . . . I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get treatment . . . Only Kevin knows about this. Not my parents, nobody. Nobody knew because I look so glamorous out here. After I finish my appointments . . . I am driven by my 24-hour sober coach back to a home that I live in the tri-state with a bunch of smelly boys . . . Doors locked by 10 p.m., lights out by 10 p.m., so I go to my room and stare at the ceiling and fall asleep to come here and see you. So that is my truth.”
