Candace Cameron Bure has Lori Loughlin‘s back.
The “Fuller House” star, 42, addressed her co-star’s alleged involvement in the nationwide college admissions scandal on Tuesday morning, saying during an appearance on the “Today” show that the cast is “family.”
“It’s too personal to us and we would never want to talk about someone that’s such a dear and close friend,” Bure told Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb as she stood next to her “Fuller House” co-star Jodie Sweetin. “I’ve already said that we are family and we stand by each other and pray for each other, and we’ll always be there for each other.”
Sweetin didn’t add anything to Bure’s commentary, though she stood by and smiled.
This comes after the Netflix series stars appeared to acknowledge the scandal at the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards in March.
“You have been laughing alongside our family for four seasons and this family has a lot of heart,” said Andrea Barber, who plays Kimmy Gibbler.
Bure then added, “And where there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of love. And a loving family sticks together no matter what. They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets.”
Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying $500,000 to ensure their daughters’ admission to the University of Southern California under the guise of athletes.
