Tom Holland couldn’t be trusted with the full ‘Avengers: Endgame’ script

Spider-Man can be trusted to save the day, just not to keep a secret.

“Avengers: Endgame” directors Anthony and Joe Russo knew that if they wanted to keep the ending of their movie secret, they had to keep it from star Tom Holland, reports IndieWire.

“Yeah, Tom Holland does not get the script,” Joe said at the “Avengers: Endgame” Indian Anthem event on Monday. “Tom Holland gets his lines and that’s it. He doesn’t even know who he’s acting opposite of. We’ll just, we use like very vague terms to describe to him what is happening in the scene, because he has a very difficult time keeping his mouth shut.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Holland’s loose lips. Last year at ACE Comic Con Phoenix, the actor confirmed the director’s account of how he was handled on the set of the “Avengers” films.

He explained, “The Russo Brothers are like, ‘So you’re just standing here, and you’re fighting this guy and just do whatever,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, who am I fighting?’ And they were like, ‘Well, we can’t tell you because it’s a secret.’ I’m like, ‘OK, so what does he look like?’ And they’re like ‘Well, we can’t tell you because that would give it away.’”

Holland’s reputation for letting the cat out of the bag is well earned. Last year, he accidentally ruined the ending of “Avengers: Infinity War” when he revealed the fate of his character while introducing the film to a crowd he assumed had already seen the film.

A video of Holland’s “Infinity War” co-star Benedict Cumberbatch attempting to keep him from inadvertently revealing spoilers on the film’s press tour also went viral last April.
