Pete Davidson returns to Instagram after nearly 5-month hiatus

Pete Davidson has returned to Instagram — kind of.

After nearly five months offline, Davidson posted two blank white boxes and an intentionally glitchy video of him as a kid to announce upcoming comedy tour dates with pal and fellow comedian John Mulaney.

“See ya there,” the caption reads.

However, it’s not actually the “Saturday Night Live” star who is behind the account. Instead, Davidson employed filmmaker and photographer Marcus Russell Price to run the account. Price has also photographed Amy Schumer and Hannibal Buress.

Davidson wiped his account after he posted a dark Instagram note in December that led many to believe he was suicidal.

“I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore,” he wrote. “I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer i can last. all I’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember I told you so.”

In January, Davidson returned to the stage to address his split from Ariana Grande and his mental health.

Davidson’s return to the social medium also comes a couple of weeks after his girlfriend, Kate Beckinsale, rejoined Instagram after she erased her account because of trolls who wouldn’t stop criticizing her relationship with the 25-year-old.
