Bob Saget doesn’t know what to say about Lori Loughlin’s legal troubles

Bob Saget isn’t ready to comment on former “Full House” castmate Lori Loughlin‘s alleged involvement in the college admissions scandal, but he admits it’s been “a strange time.”

Appearing on the third hour of the “Today” show to talk about his new movie “Benjamin,” the comedian said he felt “underqualified” to answer questions about the scam before saying he hadn’t talked to Loughlin since her arrest in March.

“Well, we go by carrier pigeon,” he joked, before adding, “but I will say I love her and no comment.”

Even if he felt comfortable addressing the situation, Saget said, he’d be at a loss for what to say.

“It’s a personal thing, it’s a personal thing … because it’s a strange time and what do you say?” he said.

Of course, Saget may have also learned to keep his mouth shut. Earlier this month, he tweeted and quickly deleted a cryptic message about “lying” as Loughlin was appearing in court, which many fans thought was aimed at his former co-star.

“So many people are lying these days, maybe they should change the tests in school to ‘false or false,’” Saget reportedly wrote at the time.

Last week, Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli pleaded not guilty to federal charges in the college admissions bribery scam.

They face up to 40 years behind bars on charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering for allegedly paying college prep adviser William “Rick” Singer $500,000 to bribe their daughters’ way into the University of Southern California.
