John Mayer really, really loves this $325 candle

John Mayer isn’t afraid to kick back and relax with a scented candle at the end of a stressful day — as long as it’s “foh da boys.”

The singer-songwriter, 41, who occasionally shares makeup tutorials on social media, is particularly passionate about a certain pricey candle by Diptyque: the smoky and woodsy “Feu de Bois” ($65), which translates to “wood fire” and which Mayer prefers to hilariously mispronounce as “foh da boys.”

The Grammy winner appears to have first discovered the scent two weeks ago, when he featured it on his Instagram Stories. “With top notes of Skoal dip and boot leather, this candle is particularly … FOH DA BOYS!” he exclaimed in one video. In another: “That’s not a wick, that’s a fuse! And that’s not wax, it’s stink fuel. And it’s positively … FOH DA BOYS!”

Predictably thrilled by Mayer’s ringing endorsement, the Diptyque team gifted the musician with the larger, much pricier five-wick version of its “Feu de Bois” candle, which retails for $325 — and the musician wasted no time in singing its praises it to his 4.2 million followers.

“You’re looking at six and a half pounds of lounge lava, lying dormant inside of a husky, trusty, kiln-fired ceramic exosheleton [sic],” Mayer crowed in his latest series of clips, posted Tuesday. “It’s undisputably [sic] … FOH DA BOYS!”

He went on to describe the mammoth votive as an “absolute friggin’ mortar of aroma,” adding: “With five wicks and expansion ports for up to 16 more, this candle tells everyone coming over, ‘You! Don’t! Recycle!’ It’s indiscriminately … FOH DA BOYS!”

While Mayer went on to promise that “the bit’s over,” we certainly hope that’s not the case. After all, he still has the matching room spray to review.
