Engaged Jennifer Lawrence jokes about ex-boyfriend Darren Aronofsky

Jennifer Lawrence doesn’t mind joking about an ex-boyfriend.

Lawrence and her main director collaborator, David O. Russell, paired up for a talk at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday where they reflected on their body of work, from “Silver Linings Playbook” to “Joy.”

The two began the chat by talking about how they first met at an AFI luncheon, where Russell spotted her from across the room.

“She was talking to — is it okay that I say this?” asked Russell.

“Yeah,” replied Lawrence, laughing.

Darren Aronofsky, at the car park,” Russell answered.

“Did a lot of networking at that lunch, I guess!”

Lawrence and Aronofsky worked together on the 2017 film “Mother!” The two entered into a romantic relationship but called it quits in November of that year.

She’s since gotten engaged to art gallerist Cooke Maroney. Her sparkling engagement ring was on full display throughout the Tribeca talk.

Russell also teased another collaboration with Lawrence, telling the audience at the end, “I’m writing something for you now.”

He provided no other details.
