Prince William welcomes new dad Prince Harry to the ‘sleep deprivation society’

Prince William and Kate Middleton have wished new parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle well after the Duchess of Sussex gave birth to the couple’s first child, a baby boy.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son today, and look forward to meeting the latest addition to the family,” William, 36, and Kate, 37, shared on Kensington Palace’s Instagram account Monday, re-posting the official baby announcement from Meghan, 37, and Harry’s @sussexroyal page.

William — who shares sons Prince George, 5, and Prince Louis, 1, and daughter Princess Charlotte, 4, with Kate — also offered his personal well wishes, telling the media he is “absolutely thrilled” for his younger brother, per Sky News. He added that Harry, 34, is the new member of “the sleep deprivation society.”

As of Tuesday morning, William and Kate had yet to meet their new nephew, but they “look forward to it.”

Baby Sussex arrived in the early hours of Monday morning, weighing in at 7 pounds and 3 ounces. Proud dad Harry said he is “over the moon” about his newborn son.

“I’m so incredibly proud of my wife,” Harry told the press on Monday. “And as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, and I’m just over the moon.”

Harry said the new family of three will make their debut this week. The baby’s name is also set to be revealed during his debut.

Reports have surfaced the Duchess, who was long rumored to be having a home birth, was taken to London’s Portland Hospital.
