Singer Meat Loaf breaks collarbone after falling off stage

Singer Meat Loaf is recovering from a broken collarbone after tripping and falling off stage during an event over the weekend.

The “I’d Do Anything for Love” crooner, 71, appeared at a Q&A session during the 2019 Texas Frightmare Weekend, and as he made his way across the stage, lost his balance on some loose wires and started to fall, according to TMZ. He attempted to prevent himself from going all the way down but ultimately fell sideways off the stage.

Meat Loaf was transported to a hospital nearby, TMZ reported, where he was kept overnight and treated for a broken collarbone.

A rep for the singer didn’t immediately return our request for comment.

Meat Loaf has collapsed on stage in previous years. In 2016, the singer fell during his concert in Canada and was rushed to the hospital. In 2011, medics rushed to help him during a Pittsburgh concert, but he got up and finished the show. In 2003, he collapsed at Wembley Arena in London and was admitted to a hospital.
