DIY’s ‘Nashville Flipped’ star Troy Dean Shafer dead at 38

The star of the DIY network’s “Nashville Flipped,” Troy Dean Shafer, has passed away at age 38.

“The DIY Network family is sorry to hear about the passing of Troy Dean Shafer, a dedicated, driven entrepreneur and restoration expert who was admired by everyone who worked on the series ‘Nashville Flipped,'” the network shared in a statement to Page Six on Wednesday. “We continue to extend our deepest condolences to Troy’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

Shafer’s brother told TMZ that he died unexpectedly in his sleep on April 28.

He apparently did not suffer from any medical conditions and the family is awaiting a toxicology report, the outlet also reported.

According to his obituary published on May 1, Shafer left his hometown of Harborcreek, Pennsylvania, to pursue music in Nashville before he became known for his handy work and contractor skills.

He was laid to rest in a private ceremony in Pennsylvania.

Shafer’s Instagram feed is filled with posts about “Nashville Flipped,” and snaps of his own DIY projects as well as his two dogs.
