Amy Schumer pumping photo sends a message to mom-shamers

Amy Schumer has a message for the critics who chastised her for performing a comedy show just two weeks after giving birth.

After receiving a plethora of nasty comments online, Schumer responded Tuesday with a photo of her pumping breast milk with the caption, “Sending out love to the moms shaming me for doing standup last night!”

Schumer performed at the Comedy Cellar on Monday night and later Instagrammed a photo from her set, leading to mom-shaming quips like: “Jesus, Amy. Let the stitches dissolve first. I’m still on the couch and my youngest is three.”

Several of Schumer’s fans and famous friends rallied around the actress after she posted the pumping photo, amid messages from mom-shamers.

Debra Messing called Schumer a “GODDESS,” and model Tess Holliday noted, “But if you were a new Dad it would be ok right?” Broadway star Laura Benanti also had a warning for the new mom: “Oof. Get ready mama. It’s the smug passive aggressive ones that ‘shame by example’ that are the worst ones. Enjoy!”

Schumer, 37, and her husband, chef Chris Fischer, 39, welcomed son Gene Attell Fischer on May 5.
