Rapper Kodak Black ordered to stay in jail until trial

Florida rapper Kodak Black will remain behind bars until his trial in a weapons possession case in Southern Florida, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Black was arrested earlier this month during the Rolling Loud Music Festival in Miami for allegedly falsifying information on two federal forms to buy guns from a Miami-area shop.

The rapper pleaded not guilty and a judge originally set his bail at $550,000. On Wednesday, federal prosecutors appealed the decision and he was remanded into custody.

A judge argued Black was likely not going to stay out of trouble if he was granted release, saying the rapper was a “danger to the community.”

One of the weapons bought by Black was found at the scene of a shooting in Pompano Beach, about 35 miles north of Miami.
