Designer bringing vegan line to Meatpacking District store

The Meatpacking District is going meat-free.

On Monday, designer Stephen F is showing his first vegan menswear collection at his Little West 12th Street store.

It includes tuxedos and double-breasted suits made from eco-friendly materials such as WonderFelt, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.

We’re told the line came to be after PETA VP Dan Mathews attended a Stephen F show with Alan Cumming, and noticed that the designer was using fur and leather in his work.

Mathews met with Stephen to show him the latest animal-free fabrics. PETA is sponsoring the event.
