“Dateline” correspondent Andrea Canning, 46, has given birth to her sixth child.
The baby boy, George Anthony Bancroft III — who will go by the name Tripp — joins five big sisters. He weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 22 inches at birth, according to People.

NBC’s Canning previously told Today.com that she and her husband, US Marine Lt. Col. Tony Bancroft, decided to undergo in vitro fertilization so they could try for a boy. The process resulted in one male embryo to implant and “it worked,” she said.
“We thought long and hard about it. I don’t want to take away from how much we obviously love our daughters, but we just always wanted a boy,” she said. “It was in our hearts to have a boy. So we said, ‘Let’s give it a shot.'”
She and Bancroft are also parents to 10-year-old Anna and younger sisters Charlie, Kiki, Georgia and Elle.
