Controversial YouTuber stars Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau have announced their engagement — and they say it isn’t a social media stunt.
Paul, 22, popped the question at Mongeau’s 21st birthday celebration in Las Vegas, she announced Sunday night.
“JAKE JUST PROPOSED,” Mongeau tweeted to her 1.4 million followers.
On her Instagram story, she posted a video showing off her engagement ring and a cake reading “Will you marry me, Tana?” written on the side. “I’m engaged @jakepaul,” she wrote.
Their engagement comes after a whirlwind two months of dating following Mongeau’s breakup from both Bella Thorne and Mod Sun and then Brad Sousa in April.
During their time together, Mongeau and Paul have stirred speculation about whether their relationship was real or just a rebound for Mongeau.
On Twitter, Tana said that the engagement was real and not a stunt.
In addition to her new bling, Paul gifted her a Mercedes-Benz G-Class for her birthday.
Paul and Mongeau are known for past controversial behavior. After making headlines in 2017 for disorderly conduct and unruly behavior accusations from his neighbors, he departed the Disney Channel, where he starred on “Bizaardvark.” In May, cops investigated claims that partygoers’ drinks were spiked at a house party he threw.
Mongeau, who was initially known on YouTube for her wild storytime videos, last summer was the face of the disastrous “Tanacon,” a content creator event that drew comparisons to the failed Fyre Festival.
